In this Fellow Case Study, we spotlight Rezycology, a company founded by Bregas Abdillah and Co-founded by Octalia Stefani, transforming plastic waste into valuable resources while improving livelihoods for Indonesia’s waste collectors. Through a digital platform that connects waste pickers, recycling stations, and partners, the company is helping build a more efficient and transparent recycling ecosystem where more plastic is recovered, processed, and kept out of the environment.
For Rezycology, the Fellowship was about building the systems, evidence, and financing strategy needed to grow on the right terms. Through tailored technical assistance, the company strengthened its financial model and impact management, validated its environmental claims through Life Cycle Assessment, and increased its Gender ROI™ score to 3.64. The company also secured a US$200,000 structured debt facility with a warrant, giving it access to growth capital without forcing premature dilution.
CTO @Aditya Banuaji and the wider Rezycology team, including its waste station partners as well as employees, had a major role in this progress. From formalising inclusive recruitment and workplace policies to making its digital platform more accessible for waste pickers with limited literacy and people with disabilities, the Fellowship helped turn inclusion from an intention into stronger business practice. Rezycology’s journey shows why, for impact businesses, the right foundations can matter just as much as the capital itself.
